Abdul Haris Nasution (born in Hutapungkut, Mandailing Natal Regency, North Sumatra, 3 December 1918 - died in Jakarta, 6 September 2000 at the age of 81 years) was an Indonesian general who was twice appointed Army Chief of Staff and who escaped an assassination attempt during the 1965 coup attempt by 30 September Movement.
