He played junior hockey for the Guelph Biltmores and the Guelph Royals (both New York Rangers farm teams) from 1957 to 1961. The Rangers called him up for a four game trial in 1960-61. LeBrun turned pro with the Kitchener-Waterloo Beavers in 1961-62 and then played for the Vancouver Canucks in 1962-63. He sat out the 1963-64 season due to spinal surgery. After that year he spent most of his career in the minor pros, except for 2 more games with the Rangers in 1965-66. He retired in 1974 after spending six seasons with the San Diego Gulls.
