Tiernan MacMurrough is an Irishman who, along with his brother and co-conspirator Finn, is buying up English villagers from the sheriff of Nottingham to draft into an army to "free Ireland". He and Finn aspire to Ireland's throne themselves. After a fight breaks out among the captures men of Locksley, spurred on by a disguised Robin Hood, Finn begins to question the feasibility of fashioning an army out of enslaved "rabble". After a heated argument in which Finn accuses him of having "lost his fire", he double-crosses his brother and Finn is imprisoned by the sheriff. After Finn escapes with Robin Hood, who was locked in the same cell, and rescues the Locksley villagers, we see little more of Tiernan.
