A Mono-molecular edge was a type of edge applied to certain bladed weapons. Different from the Monomolecular blade, which was a near microscopic blade a single molecule in thickness, the Mono-molecular edge referred to a process that could be applied to most edged weapons. Using sophisticated machinery, an edge was honed down to molecular thickness and then toughened through laser-forging techniques to keep it sharp. The resulting edge, while not as powerful as a Monomolecular blade, was nevertheless exceedingly sharp, and capable of impressive cutting power.
