In 2003, he left to spend 3 years in Paris, with his wife Jocelyne Bourgon who had been appointed Canadian ambassador to the OECD. In 2006, he returned to Ottawa to be President and CEO of the Children Hospital of Eastern Ontario. He retired in 2011 and became Vice President of Pulic Governance International, a corporation providing strategic advice on governance. In that capacity, he returned to Bruye as Interim CEO from March to October 2012.
