The Seppun Gardens were not a true garden per se, but the informal name for the vast plains that surrounded Kyuden Seppun, famous for their unusual statuary. A giant stone statue was carved each time a new Seppun Daimyo was appointed, and sold smaller statues as souvenirs to those who passed through the area.
