  • Allan Murray de San Miguel (February 1, 1988) is a minor league catcher who signed with the Minnesota Twins as a non-drafted free agent, Aug. 18, 2004 at only 16 years old. He is 5'9" tall, and weighs 200 lbs., and throws and bats right handed. He was born in Bentley, Australia-- adding to the ever increasing list of Australian born baseball players. Allan began his professional career in 2005 with the Gulf Coast League Twins, and by the end of his first season, had already been promoted to the Twins' advanced A affiliate, the Fort Myers Miracle. At 17 years old, he became the team's youngest player ever. He was demoted back down to the Beloit Snappers of the class A Midwest League for the 2006 season. Injuries have plagued Allan's development in the Twins' farm system. He spent three weeks on the disabled list while with the Snappers during the first half of the 2007 season with a sprained right ankle. He was promoted back to Fort Myers July 21, but played in just one game for the Miracle before being disabled for remainder of season with a fractured left pinky. Allan began the 2008 season with the Florida State League first-half West Division champion Miracle, but after batting .123 with one home runs and 5 RBIs in limited playing time behind Florida State Leage All-Star catcher, Wilson Ramos, was sent back down to the Snappers.
