As captain of the Black Coat Pirates, Jonathan D. Swift has immense strength and is capable of breaking up large boulders, shattering steel, or causing severe damage to large buildings, if not than causing them to collapse. Additionally, Swift has almost always fought the strongest villian of the story arc (I.E. Elon versusing Big Jelly). Swift's strength and speed is the result of his father's training methods (such as being pitted against wolves, surviving in the forests, etc.) and he has been noted to have a punch that is considered immensely powerful, and is comparable to Luffy. His durability is incredible; taking continuous, dangerous, and even deadly fights against powerful opponents that would normally kill a person, yet is still able to fight with valiant efforts.

Additionally, Swift has almost always fought the strongest villian of the story arc (I.E. Elon versusing Big Jelly). Swift's strength and speed is the result of his father's training methods (such as being pitted against wolves, surviving in the forests, etc.) and he has been noted to have a punch that is considered immensely powerful, and is comparable to Luffy. His durability is incredible; taking continuous, dangerous, and even deadly fights against powerful opponents that would normally kill a person, yet is still able to fight with valiant efforts. Swift, due to having eaten the Soku Soku no Mi, possesses great speed, agility, and reflexes to match his strength and durability. In fact, Swift has been able to fight in a wild, almost free-styled fighting style, somehow also able to avoid, or somehow to completely counter attacks. He is also shown to increase his strength quite dramatically in a short period of time, most notably being the raid on G-17 against Hachiko. His vast strength, immense speed, and creative fighting style are all exceeded by his unbreakable willpower, as seen on numerous instants, most notably when facing Giovanni and his Black Parade when Swift continued to fight, even when being near the point of death. This willpower, as just stated, allows him to continue fighting, or even surviving beyond normal circumstances, even when poisoned, drunk, and so forth. This is seen when he survives Dr. ---'s "Laughing Gas" poisons, which he began to laugh uncontrollably, but it ran through his system after a few hours instead of killing him. --- Swift is also shown to be extremely dexeritious. Early on, Swift was able avoid attacks from foes with much greater speed than him, with enemies such as Fava, Big Jelly, Cadillac, and Rasputin. After facing his sister, and her Soru technique to both enhance both speed and strength, he was able to master Overdrive Mach 5, as well as control his ability of Overdrive Mach 10 to a much greater extent. After the timeskip, Swift's devil fruit control has become much more stable and his speed has been greatly enhanced, as revealed when he was able to create fire by rubbing his hands together.
