Hayato Tachibana (橘隼人; Tachibana Hayato) (b.1547 - d.1612) was an Assassin recruit who operated in Japan during the Sengoku period. He studied Iga ninjutsu as a child, being employed as a ninja under Ieyasu Tokugawa as a retainer of Hanzo Hattori. As a result of Ieyasu's lord, Nobunaga Oda, holding a keen interest in European ideas, Hayato was placed in charge of learning European ideas. Hayato was to act as an adviser in regards to European-related scenarios. He met with both representatives of the Templars and Assassins, learning about the ongoing struggle between the two orders and Nobunaga's dealings with the Templars. Hayato masterminded the assassination of Nobunaga at Honno Temple.
