Square Enix is on a roll. First Taito and now Tecmo, the company plans to buy out Tecmo and thus will be able to publish titles such as Ninja Gaiden, Dead or Alive, Monster Rancher and Fatal Frame. They stated that Tecmo has till September 4th to either accept or decline this offer. It seems like the predictions of Silicon Knights is right - Bigger developers are going to start engulfing the smaller ones. I just didn't expect it to happen so quickly and happen to bigwigs such as Tecmo!

I just didn't expect it to happen so quickly and happen to bigwigs such as Tecmo! Square Enix president Yoichi Wada explains that this merger would be just as big as the day Square and Enix merged. They also mentioned a possibility that Tecmo may merge with Taito, which SE acquired back in 2005 in this same month. When asked about the labor disputes regarding Itagaki, Tecmo's most notable game designer who quit earlier this year, Wada stated that he didn't know the concrete details regarding the case.
