Christopher was born to a loving mother and an abusive father in a small cabin in the woods. His lack of contact with other people during his early childhood would dramatically shape his personality as an adult.
One day, after serving an after-school detention, Chris decided to try out for track, since he loved to run, and running away was a key element of the pranks he loved so much. During the test, however, he ran so fast the ground followed behind him in a wave. He was kicked out of school and ostracized, but Chris would regain respect after he discovered wrongdoings in the upper levels of his school's administration. Having always looked out for the little guy, despite being one himself, Chris donned a costume and began fighting crime as the X-Factor, since he was the last hero people expected.Public Debut

| - Speed Physiology: Chris' body is adapted towards the rigors of high-speed running. His cardiovascular and respiratory systems are many times more efficient than those of a normal human being. He metabolizes an estimated 95% of the caloric energy content of foodstuffs . The chemical processes of X-Factor's musculature are so highly enhanced that his body does not generate fatigue poisons, the normal by-products of locomotion, which force the body to rest. Rather, his body constantly expels waste products during his accelerated respiration through exhalation. His joints are smoother and lubricated more efficiently than those of a normal human being. His tendons have the tensile strength of spring steel. His bones contain unknown materials significantly more durable than calcium to withstand the dynamic shocks of his feet touching the ground at speeds a human could never achieve or withstand. X-Factor's practical reaction time is several times faster than a normal human's and the speed at which his brain processes information is heightened to a level commensurate with his bodily speed, enabling him to perceive his surroundings while traveling at high velocities. X-Factor's lachrymose is more viscous than normal, thus preventing rapid evaporation and replenishment of surface fluids on his eyeballs under the influence of high wind velocity to occlude his vision.
Superhuman Speed: He was originally capable of running faster than the speed of sound . He had sufficient energy reserves that enabled him to run at this average speed for an unknown amount of hours before reducing his speed to replenish his body's store of energy. X-Factor has used his powers of acceleration for various feats. He once plucked an arrow out of the air from a standing start, and can dodge machine gun fire. He has created cyclone-like gusts of wind, which are able to knock a man off his feet. He is able to run across the Atlantic Ocean and to oversea continents without having to stop, and run up the sides of buildings effortlessly. After training further, his speeds have been increased until he was capable of reaching high supersonic speeds up to at least Mach 4 , the true extent of his new speeds are unknown, though he has been observed outrunning lightning bolts, running through Rhode Island in a few seconds, and covering half the Earth's distance in 92 seconds. X-Factor is also immune to the effects of friction, reduced oxygen up to a point where a human can no longer breathe, and impact upon his body while moving at super-speeds. He has traveled around the world by running on top of the ocean. He has recently shown the ability to shift his molecules through solid objects, and transport people at speeds greater than the speed of sound without injuring them.
Molecular Destabilization: Through the course of his life as a mutant, his super speed has granted him numerous abilities. One of the more common ones was being able to vibrate his molecular structure at high speeds. He has demonstrated the full effect which enables him to destabilize atomic matter by accelerating its molecules often causing it to fall apart or explode usually by touching it. He can do this from a distance as well. This disruption can cause machines to short-circuit. He can also phase through people and objects.
Superhuman Strength: Chris possesses superhuman strength in his lower body as part of his body's adaptations for running. With his upper body he can lift approximately 1000 pounds while his legs can press approximately 1 ton under optimal conditions.
Enhanced Durability: He is capable of resisting tremendous impact forces that could easily crush and kill a human without suffering any serious external or internal injuries.
Chronokinesis: Chris has the power to vibrate his atoms so quickly he travels forward in time, though he can also travel backwards. His molecular speed that he generates displaces him out of the mainstream time/space so that he can propel himself into the past or future. He can leap as far forward or backwards as he wants. As he returns from the trip, he returns the exact moment he left so as to appear that he had been gone for half a nanosecond. He was able to bring inorganic objects from the future back to his correct time, although it has not been explained if a temporal anomaly would occur with several duplicates of the same objects in the same time.
Temporal Duplication: By leaping only mere seconds in time, he learned to create an indefinite number of "temporal dupes" that could be controlled with a certain amount of coordination. He could telepathically communicate with his dupes, but chooses not to because "it's way too weird to always know exactly what I'm thinking." He also has a form of danger sense where his dupes telepathically shout if he's in danger, so he is always pre-warned.
X-Gene Feedback: If Chris chooses, he can accelerate the genetic structure in others, granting powers to those with none, amplifying existing ones, or granting additional powers. He can also remove powers, which causes the body to go into shock. The long-term effects of this ability were not seen.
Enhanced Regeneration: Chris' body heals far faster than most humans due to his physiology.
Empathic Force Field: Chris produces a force field when he runs to withstand friction. It is also equipped to deal with anything he could possibly run into. However, this is uncontrollably keyed into his emotions. If the emotions around him are farther in the other direction than his are, his force field will take the properties based on the emotions around him.
*Negative: If he feels any negative emotion, such as fear, anger, or sadness, Chris' field will destroy anything he runs through, completely shredding it apart at the molecular level.
*Positive: If he feels any positive emotions, such as pride, joy, or faith, Chris' field will cause anything he runs through to turn intangible and thus not interact with him.
*Neutral: Chris once displayed a force field where he felt no emotions at all, causing everything he ran into to bounce off of him and rebound, as if he were in an unstoppable rubber ball. He claims he activated this by humor, but has yet to show it again.
