Experimental wars is an ongoing mod project for forged alliance that creates various experimental units for all factions, either from scratch or using bits of other units, as well as updating existing units with it's new veterancy-related auto upgrades- i.e. the Experimental Wars update of the Megalith starts as a normal Megalith at veterancy level 1 but gains gatling lasers at level 2, powerful side cannons at level 3, and a rocket launcher at level 4; the Fatboy gains track-mounted machine cannons at level 2, an extra pair of main turrets at level 3, rocket launchers at level 4, a huge battery of front-mounted machine cannons at level 5, and AA at level 6. This auto-upgrade principle is applied to various basic units too- the Percival and Titan are upgraded to start 2 guns instead of 1-
