| - Idra's Sunhawks is a mercenary company registered with the Mercenary Guild. Their winter quarters are in the village of Hawksnest on the Silver Road in western Ruvan. They were commanded by Idra Jadrevalyn for nearly twenty years, before she was murdered by her brother, Raschar. Her second-in-command, Sewen, took over. The Sunhawks avenged Idra through regime change in Rethwellan. The song "The Sunhawks" recounts the tale. The Sunhawks began as a regular mercenary company, before slowly evolving into a mounted skirmishing unit. Their status as light cavalry rose to a whole new level after Tarma and Kethry signed on. Tarma passed on riding tips to her comrades, and trained them in mounted archery. She also began giving the company first choice of the Clan Tale'sedrin herds, not the culls, but the more superior riding and trail horses. With the profits Tale'sedrin was making, other Shin'a'in clans started bringing their business to the Sunhawks as well. Under Idra's command, the Sunhawks were considered the finest mercenary company in the Guild. Every decent fighter wanted to join them, and every decent noble wanted to hire them. Idra protected and cared for her troops, insuring fair work for fair wages, in so much as the vagaries of war allowed. She did not allow pillaging of conquered territory, and always paid a fair price for supplies, winning the Sunhawks support throughout several nations.
