Père Ours (or Papa Bear) was the elderly shopkeeper who ran the store on Zile Muri-yo from his rattan rocking chair. In 1943, he talked with Marie Arnoux in an unknown dialect and about hiring a local guide and porters, and then he later bargained in French with George McHale for the purchase of provisions needed by McHale and Indiana Jones in their search for the Heart of Darkness.
