| - Johann Maria (Hannie) Termeulen-Boomstra ( Wiesbaden , February 18th 1929 - Amsterdam , March 1 2001 ) was a swimmer. She achieved her greatest successes swim just after theSecond World War and at the beginning of the fifties of the 20th century . Highlights of her career were the two silver medals at the Olympic Games of 1952 in Helsinki on the 100 and the 4x100-meter freestyle . With the double victory of the pupil of the versatile sports trainer and coach Frits Happel took revenge for her failed race at the Olympic Games of 1948 in London . Already won the seven-timeDutch champion still bronze with the relay team in the 4x100 meter freestyle in the British capital. Termeulen was a special appearance in the swimming world, a man of feeling that particularly thrived in a loose, individual approach, and regularly walked in high heels and her nails varnished. Her talents came to fruition under Happel who, unlike his 'strict' colleague Jan Stender of The Robben , longer believed in the soothing approach. Term Ulens honors further mentions include two silver medals (100m freestyle and 4x100m freestyle), obtained at the European Championships in 1947 , and a gold medal, won at the European championships in 1950 , with the 4x100 squad in the free stroke.
