Douglass of Veldine, presumably born in 419 HE as a younger son, was a page and squire with Alanna of Trebond. Along with Alanna, Douglass was one of the four youngest pages at that time and they began their fencing lessons together. Once Douglass was made a squire on Midwinter of 433 HE his knight-master was Raoul of Goldenlake. Douglass probably passed his Ordeal of Knighthood on Midwinter of 437 HE, the same year as Alanna. In the following years he did some knighting. He traveled to foreign lands, getting to know other customs, when he wasn't in active duty to the Crown. Douglass also does some intelligence work for Myles of Olau. He later became the knight-protector of Maura of Dunlath.
