  • Infrared motion sensors, also known as night scopes or thermal sensors, were sensor devices designed to detect sources of heat and motion in near or total darkness. These sensors were used in conjunction with readout screens to display visual data for the user. Infrared motion sensors were commonly used by big-game hunters and soldiers, though many were also favored by mercenaries and bounty hunters. The Ubese were known to integrate infrared sensors into their battle helmets, and both Boba and Jango Fett incorporated such devices into their Mandalorian battle armor. Smaller versions could be fitted into one-piece monocules and placed over a user's eye. The Wookiee bounty hunter Snoova was known to use such a device.
