- Wonder-Man (real name: Simon Williams) is a supervillain (later superhero) from Marvel Comics.
- Wonder Man is a superhero and member of the Avengers.
- Wonder Man debuted in the superhero-team title The Avengers #9 (cover-dated Oct. 1964), but appeared to die in that issue. Four years later, Avengers #58 (Nov. 1968) revisited the events of #9, explaining that the Avengers had electronically saved Wonder Man's mind in a computer. Wonder Man was not seen again until The Avengers #102 (Aug. 1972), where he made a cameo appearance in a comatose state. Wonder Man's body was revived by the villain Kang in The Avengers #131-132 (Jan.–Feb. 1975), and then again by the Black Talon in The Avengers #152 (Oct. 1976), and finally by the Living Laser in The Avengers Annual #6 (1976). After this last encounter, Wonder Man finally recovered his faculties and joined the Avengers in a full-time capacity in Avengers #160 (June 1977).
- Ionic Energy Form: The tissue and bones of his entire body have been augmented in strength and to a certain extent supplanted by an unknown substance during the "ionic ray" bombardment. He is actually composed of organic matter that is permeated with this form of energy. Its not clear if his external form is ionic energy or flesh. He does not house blood in his body and cannot impregnate women. Superhuman Speed: In spite of his great size, Wonder Man can run and move at speeds that are beyond the physical limits of the finest human athlete.
- Wonder Man is a Marvel Comics superhero created by Stan Lee, Don Heck, and Jack Kirby. Making his debut in Avengers #9 (October, 1964), Simon Williams is one of the Avengers' strongest, most outspoken members. The revived Simon joined the Avengers as Wonder Man, and was a member for years, becoming best friends with The Beast (from The X-Men, at the time an Avenger) and later had a romantic relationship with Wanda the Scarlet Witch (who ironically had once been married to The Vision.) No relationship to Wonder Woman, if you're wondering.
