Shanthi assured Picard that there would be a full inquiry once the USS Enterprise reached Starbase 247. (TNG episode: "The Pegasus") Sometime before 2373, she commanded the USS Thunderchild on its shakedown cruise. (ST CCG: Blaze of Glory) In 2374, during the Dominion War, Shanthi chaired the first joint conference between the Federation, the Klingon Empire, the Romulan Star Empire, and the Cardassian "government in exile." (DS9 novel: Hollow Men) Shanthi retired from Starfleet sometime before 2380. In January of that year, she appeared on Illuminating the City of Light to discuss the first two months of Nanietta Bacco's term as President of the United Federation of Planets.
