Findlay's Island is a small outcropping of rock off the east coast of Maine. Its only significant structure is "The Rock," a sprawling house designed to blend into the island's natural landscape. The upper stories of the house appear as a typical Downeast lighthouse with keeper's house attached. The island is named for Isaac Findlay, who settled in the 1790s. His descendants, including Anne Findlay, have lived on the island ever since. Findlay's Island, as the easternmost land in the United States (albeit unplottable), holds strategic significance. This has led to some tension in the relationship of the Findlays and the U.S. Department of Magic over the years.
