The most commonly used phrase used with regard to the training of people is Information Literacy Instruction. Does this term serve the intention well? There is an ongoing debate between information literacy specialists and academics regarding the value of information literacy skills developmen and its place in the curriculum. This paper deconstructs the meanings of instruction and education and considers how the two terms serve information literacy development.
