When he refused, the Guardian ordered three experienced Green Lanterns to rush to his aid. Arriving at Z'Nang, Meeno fought the robotic defense, but he knew he could not fight them indefinitely. He snared a comet he'd passed, planning to wipe out the planet as vengeance for his people. Once the comet had been diverted toward the planet, however, the Guardian revealed to Meeno that the majority of the Z'Nang were helpless against their leaders, a political party known as the H'Od, and that they were innocent of the bloodshed that he had witnessed on his home planet of Arden. Realizing his mistake, he diverted the comet, but was hit by a yellow energy beam from a Z'Nang warship. Meeno perished, a fate the dispatched Green Lanterns were too late to prevent. As they watched, his ring left to find a replacement, a political prisoner named Remnant Nod.
