- Gharnef (ガーネフ Gānefu, Garnef in the Japanese version) is an enemy character and a dark mage from Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light, Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem, and their remakes. Gharnef's Imhullu spell makes him immune to attacks; however, a magician using the spell Starlight (created by his former master Gotoh) can kill him. In Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE he is voiced by Ken Narita.

Originally a pupil of the White Sage Gotoh of Khadein, Gharnef betrayed him after being passed up to inherit the holy Aura spell due to his lack of a caring heart. Gharnef stole the Darksphere from Gotoh's possession and used it to forge the invincible Imhullu spell, and with this he invaded Khadein and killed his fellow pupil Miloah.
