Pomona-Pitzer and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps are actually five separate colleges. Pomona College and Pitzer College merged for athletic purposes in 1971. Claremont College and Harvey Mudd College merged in 1958, and were joined by Scripps College in 1976. From 1947 to 1958, Pomona and Claremont competed jointly.
