- When Diddy and Dixie engage battle in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, the battle starts with Kleever rising from the lava and throwing three fireballs. A kannonball will appear after doing so. The Kongs must throw it directly at Kleever to hurt it. Afterwards, it will appear to be shaking in anger and pain, as it flashes red. Several hooks will then appear above the lava. Jumping onto each of these hooks to get to the other side will reveal a ready cannonball to use. The Kongs must rinse and repeat until he appears to sink in the lava slowly, as if defeated.

- Kleever, (also known as Kleaver), is a boss in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest found in Crocodile Cauldron. He is found in the boss level Kleever's Kiln. He has a green pommel on the bottom of him, and a Kremling skull face in the middle of him. When Diddy and Dixie engage battle with Kleever, he comes out of the lava at first sight and must avoid Kleever until a kannonball falls from the sky on which the monkeys can throw at Kleever as an attack at him and avoid Kleever shooting fireballs. Then, hooks drop out of the sky which Diddy and Dixie can use as an advantages to avoid Kleever chasing after them and go on to the other side. The two must do this three times to make Kleever go into the lava temporarily. Next, Kleever comes out of the lava and tries a new tactic; Charging himself at Diddy and Dixie depending in the direction the two are in. The two must go to the other side depending on where they are at and grab a Kannonball located there. The two must repeat this step two more times until Kleever does another new tactic; attempting to slice the monkeys and still charges at the monkeys, making the battle even trickier. The two must throw cannonballs and avoid him three more times, making nine hits total and throw a Kannonball at him three more times until he explodes into bits and falls into the lava and the duo gain his Kremkoin. He reappears in Donkey Kong Land 2 and is fought in the same area now called Kleaver's Kiln and is called Kleaver in the game. He is not changed by the pseudo-sequel in other ways and the two must fight him once more to gain another Kremkoin of his. In the Game Boy Advance remake of Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, Kerozene sends out two miniature Kleevers twice in the battle which just slice downwards and do not have the ability to shoot fireballs and only gain one hit to be defeated. It is unknown if they are a subspecies of Kleever as they are weaker.
