Probably not, since that was used in the original plot of the Death Note (A.K.A. Desu Noto). The Death Note Eraser only existed in that pilot chapter and does not exist in the Death Note canon. However. They may be thinking about making L reborn but not quite sure. They may be keeping it as an open option. In the end of The first Death Note rewrite there is a new shinigami who goes to the human world. Theres debate as to whether or not it's Light but either way the new shinigami is going to the human world which they could use. Also in the end of Death Note Matsuda discusses his theory that Near set the wrong Death Note on fire and the real one with L's name writen in it still exists. In which case it could be erased with the death earaser if Near was to somehow obtain it.
