  • Lt. Kevin Burris is a corrupt detective of the Vinci Police Department and Chief William Holloway's right-hand man. He is most known for personally killing Paul Woodrugh and serves as the tertiary antagonist in the second season of True Detective. In the episode finale, Burris kills Ray Velcoro and is the only major antagonist who survives the events of True Detective. After Ani Bezzerides passes to a journalist incriminating evidence, which proves that Burris, Holloway, Dixon and Caspere were behind the robbery and murder in 1992 and that they are all corrupt, it appears likely that Burris will be investigated at some point for his crimes and that he will pay for what he did to Paul and Ray.
