- Serene (セレーヌ Serēnu, fan translated as Selene) is a background character from TearRing Saga: Utna Heroes Saga. She was the wife of Prince Arless of Canaan and the mother of Sennet and Neyfa. She was also one of the daughters of Ezenbah and the sister of Sylpheeze. Fourteen years prior to the game's events, she was murdered by Karla during an attack on her manse. Her murder was pinned on Ezenbah, resulting in his banishment from Canaan.
- Serene is a curious nymph and daughter of Sebastian Locken and Huldra, former queen of the nymphs. She wishes to know more about various races that inhabit the Land of the Living. She, like others of her kind, follows the nymph tradition which states that if a traveller attacks and defeats her, she has to let the traveller "have his wicked way" with her. She ran into Shyla Locken during the latter's journey to Trinity Gask, and that encounter changed her view of the world. Serene has lately been tagging along with various other races since the events of the Day of the Damned in Reign while promoting the god Shakkan's cause.

She is very close to her sister Polly. Polly even fought the hero to avenge her sister's defeat. Lunax, the leader of the Super Novas, seems to have a crush on Serene, but the hints are only given in the Spanish version. Her robo of choice is Miranda, which somewhat resembles her.
- Serene was a Dark Jedi and prospective apprentice of Darth Vader who secretly served the Empire and was known only by Vader and fellow apprentice Galen Marek. Vader trained her from the age of two after her entire family was killed in the aftermath of the Clone Wars. Serene was raised by Vader, her only companion being Marek, whom she felt feelings for but was rejected by because Marek felt he had to compete against her as Vader's apprentice. Much like Marek, Vader trained Serene to be a ruthless assassin and a powerful Force-sensitive, not as powerful potentially as Marek, but just as skilled and less impressionable.
