- Sandstone is a naturally occurring block found 4-5 blocks below natural Sand deposits, but only in Desert Biomes and Beaches. Sandstone can also be crafted, by placing four blocks of Sand in a square, not requiring the 3x3 crafting grid. There are two varieties of Sandstone: Chiseled Sandstone and Smooth Sandstone. Sandstone can be used to craft these two types of sandstone. It can be smoothed by placing four in a 2x2 grid, and chiseled by making sandstone slabs and making a 1x2 column. See crafting below.
- Sandstone is a block which can be obtained by splicing Cactus Seed and Dirt Seed. These blocks can also be found in Desert Worlds.
- Chiseled Sandstone is a form of Sandstone that is made from Sandstone Slabs. Two are placed on top of each other. Chiseled Sandstone has a Creeper face on it and can be found naturally in Desert Temples or Desert Wells.

- thumb|kivet joita voit hakata Sandstone eli hiekkakivi on yksi kaivettavista kivistä RuneScapessa. 1.

- Sandstone is a sedimentary rock usually comprised of compacted quartz or feldspar sand held together with an adhesive agent such as calcium carbonate or silica. It is notable for being able to stand up well to natural erosion although it can be destroyed by focused energy blasts, such as beam technology or bomb detonations. It's found on desert worlds, like Tatooine, and can also be found on Tallon IV. Razor Moss grows on these stones. A similar substance is Talloric Alloy.
- In the A Song of Ice and Fire novels, Sandstone is the seat of House Qorgyle. Prince Oberyn Martell was a ward at Sandstone for a time.
- Sandstone is a type of rock found in Metroid Prime. In the real world, sandstone is a sedimentary rock consisting of quartz sand held together by an adhesive agent such as calcium carbonate or silica. While resistant to natural erosion, it can easily be destroyed by a Charge Beam, Morph Ball Bomb, or Power Bomb. It is found commonly in the Chozo Ruins. It is replaced with Talloric Alloy in the sequels to Prime. The first vital need for destruction of Sandstone is to access to Flaahgra in the Chozo Ruins.
- Sandstone respawns quickly, so a player can mine continuously at a group of only 3-4 rocks. Thus, it can be quickly mined for fast XP. When sandstone is mined, the player randomly receives one of the four sizes of sandstone blocks. Sandstone is tradeable, but it is in very low demand because it currently has no use other than in the quest Enakhra's Lament to make part of Lazim's statue. A player must have a Mining level of 35 or greater to mine sandstone, which yields the following experience depending on the size the sandstone block mined:
- Sandstone is a Block that is found under Sand (about 3 or 4 Blocks down) in the Desert. It can be mined using any Pickaxe. It can also be Crafted using 4 Blocks of Sand in a Crafting Table.

- Sandstone rocks respawn quickly; players can mine continuously at a group of only 3 to 4 rocks. When sandstone is mined, the player randomly receives one of the four sizes of sandstone blocks. If wearing Varrock armours, stones mined by the double mining chance will be the same size. Players must have a Mining level of 35 or greater to mine sandstone, which yields the following experience on success based on the size of sandstone mined: {|class="wikitable align-center-2 align-right-3"
- You can find this ochre rock in the "striped" Canyons, where it is one of the most commmon types of canyonstones. It can also be found in older worlds created before R14 in the shape of cliffs and mountains not related to any canyons. Different from canyonstones (Canyonstone, Ruddy Canyonstone, Dark Canyonstone) you will not need any Power Cells to mine this rock. Sandstone is necessary for crafting Smooth Sandstone that looks a lot like sand; the recipe can rarely be found in Treasure Chests that will randomly spawn in darkness.
- Sandstone (sometimes known as arenite) is a clastic sedimentary rock composed mainly of sand-sized minerals or rock grains. Most sandstone is composed of quartz and/or feldspar because these are the most common minerals in the Earth's crust. Like sand, sandstone may be any colour, but the most common colours are tan, brown, yellow, red, gray, pink, white and black. Since sandstone beds often form highly visible cliffs and other topographic features, certain colors of sandstone have been strongly identified with certain regions.
- Sandstone respawns quickly, so a player can mine continuously at a group of only 3-4 rocks. When sandstone is mined, the player randomly receives one of the four sizes of sandstone blocks. When wearing Varrock armour and the armour effect activates, the size of the second block of sandstone will be the same as the first block. Sandstone is tradeable and can be sold on the Grand Exchange, but it is in very low demand because it currently has no known use other than in the quest Enakhra's Lament to make part of Lazim's statue. {|class="wikitable"
