| - Yay, first time something I purposed was put as a policy, I feel great! Darth taderMandalore battles 23:44, 6 July 2007 (UTC) I'd like to contest some of this. 1.
* No kicking/banning/removing/autoremoving users for no reason 2. 1.
* How about "Operation functions should be used for a reason?" 3. 2.
* I think it is nice to be opped so that you can get rid of a flooder quickly. Also, Jack as well as other users are often opped at all times, and I don't see a real problem with that. -Pinky 4.
* No kickwars/banwars - take them to #kickwars and #banwars 5. 1.
* This would be better left unsaid; 6.
* Browser wars are prohibited. Take them to #browserwars 7. 1.
* What? This looks like it came from Uncyclopedia. Browser wars, of all things. Do we prohibit Mac/PC showdowns too? How about Wii/PS3? Is it limited to electronics? 8. 2.
* The rule is because recently a lot of users on IRC have been browser warring over FF and IE. -Pinky 9.
* Keep discussions about politics to a bare minimum, unless it has something to do with the topic at hand. Take political arguments to #uncyclopedia. 10. 1.
* Get over it, Jack. Uncyclopedia isn't a politics Wikia. Uncyclopedia is all SATIRE. Serious, applicable comparisons with historic incidents can help a user present his point. 11.
* Normal users may have only maximum access level of 10 - exceptions can be made if there's a consensus among administrators about it. 12. 1.
* Oh, goody, the admins have political power. Why do we keep doing this? I thought you guys wanted to have normal users have an equal say. That doesn't mean I oppose giving a user named "Willy_Wheels_PWN" level 900 rights, it means I oppose making admins the ones who decide a user's credibility. 13. 2.
* I'm not gonna argue with this one(not when I'm not an admin) File:Grin.gif -Pinky 14.
* Do not remove autoremovals or bans without discussion unless someone has autoremoved or banned a channel operator (chanop) 15. 1.
* This isn't typical IRC custom? 16.
* Assume good faith 17. 1.
* We should expand this part. We should have all community-related policies expanded to IRC. That can help us a lot. 18.
* Use your real user name, or a nick (aka, RelentlessRecusant - RR, Jedi Master 76 - JM76, etc...) 19. 1.
* This is the most important that I see. 20.
* No cursing to be used offensively (let's keep it civil) 21. 1.
* Thank you, Lord. 22.
* No spamming, flooding etc. 23. 1.
* I hope nobody tries this, but it seems like we should keep this anyway, but perhaps a definition for flooding? --C3PO the Dragon Slayer 6,000,000 forms of communication | Dragons I've Slayed File:Sabersmilyc3po.jpg 01:36, 7 July 2007 (UTC) Yay 3PO likes my rules!File:Tongue.gif Darth taderMandalore battles 02:28, 7 July 2007 (UTC) Nice. I like this revision better than the original. User:Shadowphobia/Sig02:30, 7 July 2007 (UTC) Looking at 3PO's comments, I'll make my response quick and simple. 1.
* Fine, the change is redundant. 2.
* Its fine as is. 3.
* Maybe you weren't here the past few days. We've had random discussions (mostly off-topic) that have lasted a almost an hour arguing over which internet browser is better. No change, IMO. 4.
* If it serves a point, then it has to do with the 'topic at hand, eh?' 5.
* Its because mostly its just Admins and people who don't necessarily contribute on the channel. 6.
* Of course. 7.
* Eh, don't really mind, but meh. 8.
* /whois is your friend File:Smile.gif 9.
* Obviously. 10.
* Its just there for people with no common sense. -- JM76 Ask Archives Image:Sabersmilyjm76.jpg 02:33, 7 July 2007 (UTC) Well, since some people have been kinda abusing kick or ban commands, that had to be done. Also, #swfanon is for discussion about this site, not about how much ChatZilla sucks or pwns. Also, I was getting tired of Pinky wanting level 49 access, so... :P --Jack Phoenix (Contact) 16:50, 7 July 2007 (UTC) lol. Its 30 I want. GHe would never give me 49 anyways... Pinky49Talk 17:08, 7 July 2007 (UTC) On the browser wars, I'm sure something broader that better shows the spirit of the law can be written down. How about, say, "During an arranged meeting, off-topic conversation should be limited to a point that keeps discussion generally moving forward toward the goal set by the arrangement, enforced by minimal high-level moderator rights." That means if someone set up a portal proposal in the Alliance of Fanon, browser wars would be off topic, and they would thus be prohibited (not, though, to the point of permanent bans.) --C3PO the Dragon Slayer 6,000,000 forms of communication | Dragons I've Slayed File:Sabersmilyc3po.jpg 22:38, 9 July 2007 (UTC) A lot of people are cicking and banning for no reason still. I think that it should be enforced better. General Grham Talk (NCIS | Transfanon)Image:Yoda.jpg 14:20, 30 July 2007 (UTC) @Grham: A lot of people? Like who? We've only banned vandals/spammers on the channel, and kicking is done for a reason (for the most part. You know who you are! File:Tongue.gif). -- JM76 Ask Archives Image:Sabersmilyjm76.jpg 23:18, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
