Peters' serial work includes the 1949 serials Batman and Robin (as a henchman) and King of the Rocket Men (on the side of good, as King's friend Burt Winslow). He also appeared in many television Westerns, including The Lone Ranger, The Roy Rogers Show and The Range Rider, as well as straight dramas like Perry Mason. Peters also made television history as the original "Mr. Clean" in a series of popular commercials. When he began his acting career, Peters swore that if he hadn't become a star by age 50, he would quit show business. Peters kept his word -- in 1966, with nothing but a recurring role on Lassie ahead of him, he left acting and began a successful career in real estate.
