- Aurelian is a novella written by Black Library Author Aaron Dembski-Bowden and is part of The Horus Heresy series. The novella was originally published as an A5 hardback novella and available in two editions: 3,000 Gold edition novellas that were differently bound, signed, and with interior art plates, and 3,000 Silver edition novellas that were simply bound and without a signature or interior artwork. The novella was later reprinted as a standard hardcover novella, an e-book, and an unabridged audiobook.

They have wings that can span three meters when they reach adult age which give them the capability of flight.

Born in humble circumstances, he rose through the military ranks to become emperor. During his reign, he defeated the Alamanni after a devastating war. He also defeated the Goths, Vandals, Juthungi, Sarmatians, and Carpi. Aurelian restored the Empire's eastern provinces after his conquest of the Palmyrene Empire in 273. The following year he conquered the Gallic Empire in the west, reuniting the Empire in its entirety. He was also responsible for the construction of the Aurelian Walls in Rome, and the abandonment of the province of Dacia.

- The Aurelians were a bipedal, avian race belonging to the United Federation of Planets from at least the 23rd century, who have served in a variety of roles through the Federation. They shared a strong physical resemblance with the Skorr. (TAS: "Yesteryear", "The Jihad") Clothing is not worn in Aurelian culture; nor is there any evidence of their being required to do so on other worlds. (TAS: "Yesteryear", The Thirteenth Order)
