Prior to Coronation Street she played Nicola in Byker Grove as a teenager and Kelly in Peak Practice. Subsequent to her stint on the Street she appeared as Kate in EastEnders, Izzie Redpath in Waterloo Road but achieved most publicity as the winner of Strictly Come Dancing in 2004.
