Synopsis
| - Superman takes Supergirl outside of Earth's orbit to see how she is doing. He knows that she only recently regained memories of Krypton and understands that it must be difficult for her. Kara ponders whether there is some greater purpose for their arrival on the planet Earth.
Her rhetorical question is never answered however, as suddenly a giant explosion rips through her, sending her back down to Earth. She lands in the sea, but when she flies back out, she finds a costumed super-villain waiting for her. Supergirl doesn't recognize him, but as she tries to fight against him, she finds herself rocked by another series of explosions. The villain introduces himself as Reactron. When he gets in close, he unleashes a tremendous explosion of nuclear energy. A giant mushroom cloud erupts from the spot where the two combatants are fighting.

Notes
| - * This issue is reprinted in the Supergirl: Beyond Good and Evil trade paperback.
* This issue is the first canonical Post-Crisis appearance of Reactron. Reactron also made a flashback appearance to an apocryphal event chronicled in Secret Origins (Volume 2) Annual #1. He appears next in Supergirl #26.
