The Battle of San Francisco was a military engagement on August 3, 1925 between the US Army and Navy, and the Imperial Japanese Army and Air Force. The battle was more of a series of attacks, then it was an actual battle. The first engagement began when two waves of Japanese fighters devastate the ground force and its garrison, destroying Marollet Air Field and Downtown. The Fourth Pacific Fleet left the day before, which would later be destroyed at the Battle of Monterrey. The assault was followed by an landing at the bay, and captured Alcatraz and Oakland, while a separate wave landed the Golden Gate, capturing Downtown San Francisco. The garrison regrouped and fell back to Sacramento.
