  • The 58th Sector Army, nicknamed Red Banner Command, later the 58th Army, was a joint sector army established by order of Emperor Palpatine in the early months of the Galactic Empire, made up of Imperial Army, Imperial Navy, and Stormtrooper Corps units. Imperial Central Command wanted a mobile sector army that could respond to other sectors quickly, in the event of an attack or other emergency. However, it was officially posted in the Javin sector, where it's headquarters were located. The 58th Sector Army was formed of several of the newest stormtrooper, Army, and Navy units in 19 BBY. However, as the unit gained experience, more elite troops were accepted into it. As a result, the 58th became known as one of the best sector armies in the Empire. It received its own coat-of-arms, of red and yellow coloring. Due to this, the 58th gained the nicknamed "Red Banner Command". The 58th was divided by Army, Navy, and stormtrooper units that worked in conjunction with each other. One Imperial Officer Corps member noted that the 58th seemed to be a mix of the three major branches. The Combined Ground Forces were led by General Alexander Suvorov, while the Combined Fleet was led by Admiral Vladimir Vysotsky, both Clone Wars veterans. It had a headquarters building, the Zhylunovich Embankment, built on Javin as the main headquarters. The heavily modified Imperial-class Star Destroyer Izyamov acted as the mobile headquarters.
