Desirability
| - As one-handed polearms, spears are attractive weapons since the DV bonuses they gain from the Polearms class can be coupled with those from a shield for optimal DV gains. Their damage stats are also respectable, on par with scimitars. Spears of higher metals with powerful prefixes or suffixes can be very desirable indeed.
Spears can also be used as throwing weapons, having a weapon skill as such; their usefulness as throwing weapons is greatly limited, though, since large stacks of iron spears are likely to become very heavy and higher metal spears are rather rare.
