While attempting to script effects into NWN2, it became apparent that a recent update must have somehow broken the system by which effects are retrieved and played, as many do not work, and several effect IDs refer to the same effects. The list of effects and IDs on the NWN2 lexicon (www.nwnlexicon.com) is essentially useless now because the IDs listed no longer produce the effect the list says they should.

abstract
  • While attempting to script effects into NWN2, it became apparent that a recent update must have somehow broken the system by which effects are retrieved and played, as many do not work, and several effect IDs refer to the same effects. The list of effects and IDs on the NWN2 lexicon (www.nwnlexicon.com) is essentially useless now because the IDs listed no longer produce the effect the list says they should. The "Effect Tester" module was constructed for the purpose of testing which effects work in the Neverwinter Nights 2 editor. The left-hand lever will test each effect ID in order, from 1 upwards. The effect will apply to the player, and the ones that work will be seen to appear on the player's location. The right-hand lever tests whichever effect is input in the script "righteffectscript" (ID should be input by changing the value of nEffectID). A list of all the effects that work, by ID, is shown below. I stopped testing at 700 but many effects up to 1000 seem to work. The list is there to be edited so feel free to make additions or revisions.Working Effect IDs:38101112152223242832333435363738394041434448515354556061666769707475768183848594959899109110112113115116118139144145183184185186187188189190191192193218219221222223229231234241246253261277280282283284286289315317318356446459460463464481494496507514515516519520521530531532533534535536537539540541542543544547548549550551552553554555556557558559560561562563564565566567568569580581583584586587588599600601602603604606609610611612613614615616617618619626628629630631632633634635636637638639640641642643644646647648649650651652653654655656657658659660661662663664665666667668669670671672673674675676677678679680681682683684685686687688689690691692693694695696697698699700
