In 1915, along with numerous other Beagle, River- and Laforey-class destroyers, she took part in the naval operations in the Dardanelles Campaign. Work included naval artillery support and the landing of infantry reinforcements, particular at the exposed Anzac Cove beachhead. On 12 December 1917, Wolverine sank following a collision with the fleet sweeping sloop Rosemary off the northwest coast of Ireland.
