The 19th Shock Troops Battalion, better known as the 19th ODSTs, abbreviated as 19/105 and occasionally nicknamed the Hussar Lancers, was a relatively new, yet battle-hardened Orbital Drop Shock Trooper Battalion. It was notable for having the majority of its personnel originate from the colony New Budapest, which was dominated by an Hungarian majority and a considerable Russian minority. It suffered heavy casualties throughout the Human-Covenant War, with only the 1st STSOT of the battalion's Alpha Company (1/35/19) remaining relatively intact at the end of the war.

The unit was reformed after the end of the Human-Covenant War, taking in various other surviving ODST units, losing its Slavic-dominated heritage in the process. Halfway into the Rebuild Era, the unit had returned to its former numbers and strength.
