Megalopolis is the fifth DLC for Tropico 4. It was released on November 15, 2012 for PC and on December 11 for Xbox. Its mission is the first DLC one to be compatible with Modern Times.

- Megalopolis is the rebuilt Tokyo in the year 2052 AD. Naoki and the party is transported here after alignment lock with their new ally Karen Rose or Ogiwara. Martial Law is in effect when the party arrives, with demons attempting to prevent the parties advance. Each section of the city is separated into a area called Sidepolis, with the party seeking to reach Corepolis.
- Megalopolis is an old board game that is a parody of Monopoly. The Frenskys play it in "The Frensky Family Fiasco" as part of Francine's family night that she is in charge of. The game pieces include a mouse, thimble, and car. It appears to be played mostly like Monopoly, where you charge rent on properties you own, and has money and a banker. The game appears again in "The Substitute Arthur", and there is much debate over which way to play the game is best. When D.W. plays she throws all of the money in the air.
- What differentiates this map from Savannah and Watering Hole is the fact the allies start next to each other, not unlike in the Lombardia map. This means that unlike other Arabia-style maps, Megalopolis allows room for some turtling, not because of chokepoints, but simply because their shared starting position is more easily defended.

- What differentiates this map from Savannah and Watering Hole is the fact the allies start next to each other, not unlike in the Lombardia map. This means that unlike other Arabia-style maps, Megalopolis allows room for some turtling, not because of chokepoints, but simply because their shared starting position is more easily defended. Players should try a mixed defensive and offensive strategy, sometimes focusing on one more than on another, but nonetheless, close cooperation is imperative in this map. On the offensive, players should use units such as cavalry (Theia's hero Contarii are the best for this role) and other fast units, such as Centaurs. On the defensive, players must partially wall sections of their position, and connect them to their allies' Walls, saving gold and time.
