abstract
  • Richard Donner is an American film director and producer. He was an Executive Producer for X-Men and X-Men Origins: Wolverine. He is married to Lauren Shuler Donner who has produced all the X-Men films under their family company. Donner has been sighted as a direct influence of Bryan Singer, who admired the serious, respectful approach towards comic book characters that he took in making Superman in 1978 and the sections of Superman II (1980) that he directed. This influence even led to Singer directing his own film, Superman Returns in 2006, in homage to Donner's films. In so doing Singer was forced to leave his directors role for X-Men: The Last Stand.
