Whitehall Street–South Ferry is a station on the BMT Broadway Line of the New York City Subway. It is a three-track, two island platform station. This is the southern terminal for most W trains (except the last 3 trains of the evening), while R trains and the last three W trains continue through the Montague Street Tunnel into the BMT Fourth Avenue Line in Brooklyn. During late nights, when the W does not operate and the R short turns here, the N and R trains serves this station. The station is rather deep, as much of it goes under the Bowling Green station on the IRT Lexington Avenue Line.
