Kinthorpe, Gorthorpe and Laxthorpe are the 3 10 storey tower blocks on the estate, and contain 47 1 bedroom flats each. These 3 blocks are also of 'no fines' construction type. The tower block was planned to be demolished, however following the local elections in May 2011, the block was given a reprieve, and will now continue to be used for housing. In a final decision about the future of the Estate, Kinthorpe and Gorthorpe blocks had their long term futures secured, with the council planning to refurbish the 2 tower blocks, whilst demolish the other 5 remaining tower blocks by 2015. However, it was demolished along with Laxthorpe in late September 2014.
