- Antigone is a play originally written by Sophocles in the 5th century B.C. Jean Anouilh wrote an adaptation or newer version that was first performed in 1944. The plays are similar, but there are some differences. In Anouilh's version, the play was used to deliver a message about rejection of authority with parallels to the French resistance to the Nazi invasion. There have been other adaptations.

Später verhindert sie den Prophezeiten Zweikampf ihrer Brüder. Als der eine Bruder stirbt, erlässt König Kreon ein Verbot, dass dieser nicht bestattet werden soll. Antigone bestattet ihn aber trotzdem, weil sie sich mehr nach den Göttern als nach den Menschen richten will. Als sie dafür eingemauert werden soll, begeht sie Suizid.
- Antigone (; Greek Ἀντιγόνη) is the name of two different women in Greek mythology. The name may be taken to mean "unbending", coming from "anti-" (against, opposed to) and "-gon / -gony" (corner, bend, angle; ex: polygon), but has also been suggested to mean "opposed to motherhood" or "in place of a mother" based from the root gonē, "that which generates" (related: gonos, "-gony"; seed, semen).
- The Antigone was a battlecruiser in service to the Dominion Fleet. After the Battle of Char, its crew sided with Valerian Mengsk in the conflict that broke out between his forces and those loyal to Arcturus Mengsk. In the opening salvos above Char, the Antigone was able to take out one of Arcturus's battlecruisers via combined fire from the Eos. As the battle progressed, the ship took damage, but responded to Valerian's order to meet at designated point of clear space within the Char system. The Antigone succeeded, and entered warp space with the rest of Valerian's fleet.
