  • The JET Programme Japanese Language Courses are provided free of charge by the JET Programme (specifically, CLAIR). There are three courses (beginner, intermediate and advanced), each 6 months in length. There is also a more advanced translator/interpreter course available. Material is sent for each month to the participant with a test to be completed by the end of each month. The course starts in November, with the first test due December 10 (for the 2009/2010 course). The beginner, intermediate and advanced courses are structured around regular deliverable tests. A minimum grade of 70 percent must be obtained on four out of six of the tests to pass the course.
