| - The Islamic Kingdom of Syria, commonly referred to as Syria, is a Middle Eastern nation. Composed of varying climates and landscapes, it is bordered to the north by Turkey, the east by Arabia, southwest by Egypt, and west by the Mediterranean Sea. Within the borders of Syria exists the semi-autonomous Free State of Zion, which is a Jewish-majority enclave subservient to Syrian law but with an independently elected local government, as well as the League of Nations International Zone of Jerusalem, an important city for the world's three Semitic faiths that is governed exclusively by the League of Nations. Syria, a semi-constitutional monarchy, is currently ruled by King Abdullah II.
