| - Ace Squadron was a Rebel starfighter squadron that fought throughout much of the duration of the Galactic Civil War. Formed in 0 ABY, the squadron was created as much for propaganda purposes as anything else. The squadron was tasked with easy, but glamorous missions that would make Ace Squadron a legendary fighting unit that would inspire Rebel recruits. The pilots themselves were unaware of this meta-purpose. The squadron was placed in the charge of General Morgan's fleet. In the time before the Battle of Hoth, Ace Squadron completed missions with varying degrees of success, but with careful planning by General Morgan and sensationalistic journalism by Syal Niccin, they served their meta-purpose well, glamorizing the adventures in the cockpit and motivating rookie pilots. A month before the Battle of Hoth, Ace Squadron was disbanded after the Skirmish over Hoth and the 1337 N00B5 assimilation into the Rebel Alliance. However, with resources stretched thin during the evacuation of the base, Ace Squadron was called back into service to help run the Imperial blockade, whereupon they proved their worth for more than just propaganda. As the Alliance regrouped, Ace Squadron was officially reformed as an elite fighter squadron, which General Morgan used to strike at critical targets. During the Battle of Endor, Ace Squadron was assimilated into Red Group, along with Rogue Squadron and ten other starfighter squadrons.
- Ace Squadron was a starfighter squadron equipped with RZ-1 A-wing interceptors that served with the New Republic Defense Force. It was commanded by Captain Pash Cracken, son of Contruum native and chief of New Republic Intelligence General Airen Cracken. Ace Squadron was originally part of a fighter wing known as Cracken's Flight Group, made up of the former Imperial pilots who had defected to the Rebel Alliance alongside Cracken, but attrition forced the remaining pilots to be consolidated into a single squadron. This reconstituted Ace Squadron was assigned to Commander Varth's wing.
