Tough, dependable and with a strong will, while officially Major Mitchell is Ajax's executive officer, his role is more that of keeping his more destructive tendencies in check. Calm and level headed, Mitchell is a specialist in reconnaissance operations, leading the company's intelligence gathering operations from the front.
COMMENTS
Unlike many operatives, his first instinct isn't to shoot everybody in the vicinity. More often than not, he's attempted to find a diplomatic solution to Blackjack's problems, and his gift for the gab has allowed them to defuse numerous dangerous situations. Those that mistake this for cowardice or often surprised with his skill at arms. He's well liked by his subordinates for his easy going and friendly nature, as well as his humility, but officers are sometimes disparaged by his lenient approach to code of conduct and standard procedure.
HISTORY
The son of two career officers, he was born on board the UNSC Olympus Mons in the orbit of Mars. Growing up on UNSC bases, joining the UNSC was almost inevitable. Joining the UNSC Marines as an officer, his first posting was the 45th Marine Regiment, where he lead his unit to numerous victories, particularly specialising in reconnaissance. During this time, his unit was dispatched to provide reconnaissance of a heavily entrenched Remnant force. Worrying for his unit, he went in alone, and completed the necessary reconnaissance without being detected and got back to his unit with the intel, allowing the 45th to conduct strategic strikes against weak points in their defences.
He was hand picked for the top tier special operations unit, the Special Reconnaissance Service, conducting clandestine reconnaissance for the UNSC. During his time with the SRS, he and his XO conducted a raid on Insurrectionist forces, while in plain clothes, using a car as an improvised breaching tool to break into a compound and rescue several hostages. Less than a month after this incident, he was sent on shore leave, and during this time his holiday destination was struck by a Remnant raid. Rallying the militia force of the capital, he organised a ferocious defence, and when the enemy breached their defences, he single handedly held the breach against waves of attacks until relieved by friendly forces.
EQUIPMENT
Mitchell uses the Scout armour, perfectly designed for long distance, low profile, reconnaissance. Equipped with no external identifications or modifications, it is equipped with a Gen-1 hardened uplink and a command network module. He usually wears a drab olive scarf around his neck. For his primary armament, he uses a suppressed M2A Carbine with a red dot sight and laser targetting module. For his sidearm he carries a M57 Auto. He usually carries a mixture of fragmentation and flashbang grenades with him, and carries a M15 MRS folding knife for close up work.

The NPC's Danforth, Karkauer, Jorgensen and Messner will only spawn if you have the Braco Company quests, to permanently rescue them for John J. Keeshan. Complete the Lakeshire quests and seek the Bravo Company leader John J. Keeshan under the Lakeshire Inn, in Lakeshire, Redridge Mountains, to rescue the four main members and help the team to fight against all the threats of Redridge Mountains. In the Redridge Mountains storyline, the player is recruited into Bravo Company and under the guidance of Colonel Troteman, attempts to reignite Keeshan's will to fight by recovering the belongings Keeshan lost and helping reassemble Keeshan's old battalion from Bravo Company, who have all been discovered to be alive but captured by Blackrock orcs. After having his belongings returned to him and his friends in Bravo Company reunited with him, Keeshan regains the will to fight. Keeshan leads Bravo Company in an assault on Render's Valley, freeing the prisoners of war located there and then decimating it in an explosion which turns it into a crater. Bravo Company later assault Stonewatch Keep, the stronghold of the Blackrock orcs, which culminates in a battle with a black dragon named Darkblaze. During the battle all the members of Bravo Company are killed except for the player, Troteman (who was not on the battlefield) and Keeshan, who jumps onto the dying dragon's back. Darkblaze flies over Lake Everstill, and after some struggle, both of them fall into the lake's waters. Both Keeshan and Darkblaze were presumed to have died in the fight, and several of Keeshan's belongings are later recovered by Lakeshire's townspeople. It is later revealed that Keeshan survived the encounter and later plays a role in defeating the Dark Horde in the Burning Steppes storyline.
