To Alareh, it was merely a flirtatious fling, but she broke Jeff's heart when she rebuffed him after a few weeks. (Star Trek: Pendragon: "A Quiet Darkness", "Cloak and Dagger", "Pilgrims on the Path of Shadows", "Memoriam") Unknown to Sinclair, Alareh became pregnant. Later that year, bore a son, Varen. She died in 2384, at which time, Varen went to live with his father. (PDN: "Sometimes It Comes In the Clouds") It was later revealed that Alareh had planned to abort her child, but a "suggestion" from Darrum stopped her from doing so. (PDN: "Promised Land", "The Hand of God")
